A sequel of the film and the third installment of the Detective Dee series, titled Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings, was released in , with Chao, Feng. An exiled detective is recruited to solve a series of mysterious deaths that threaten to delay. The Four Heavenly Kings have no actual part in the story, and their statues only play a passing role.
